GeekOut Bristol Meet – May 12th: Timey-Wimey Doctors Gallery

Get out your Sonic Screwdrivers folks, this month we celebrated all of the great Gallifreyans of the Doctor Who universe. It was a fun meet, filled with Doctors, geeky conversation and lots and lots of board games. The competition was pretty difficult, thankfully, but some mega-fans came through and absolutely killed it! But, like all of our events, they eventually have to come to a close and roll on midnight, we closed up and disappeared in our TARDIS… Or… You know, we drove away in a car.

Before we go into this month’s article, I’d like to say a massive thanks to Jessy Caroline for donating us two games. We received a Doctor Who board game, which was absolutely massive in size! As well as this, we got a Hobbit card game. Huge thanks for donating those games, we’ll be sure to cycle through them in the coming months. Now, let’s get back on with the gallery post for this month’s event.

This month we had 45 attendees, which is nice, but not as big as some of our previous months. But that’s okay – We had a great time, recounting tales of Doctors, both old and new. Some die-hard Whovians made themselves known in our competition – A two-sheet puzzle; the first being a spaghetti diagram and the second being a Wordsearch. If you’re interested, you can have a look at our sheets here. For the answers, click here.

As ever, we’d like to say a huge thanks to everyone who turned up. It was a quieter month this month, but that still led to great conversation and awesome games. We’ll soon announce June’s event, which is all about Tech Toys – Y’know, from your Kindles, to your Pi’s and more. Let us know what you think we should do in next month’s event. Alternatively, if you’ve got something to say about this month’s, let us know in the comments below, or over on Facebook and Twitter.
