JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind Now Airing On Crunchyroll

JoJo fans rejoice, as nearly two years after the last episode of Diamond is Unbreakable, the fifth Arc has finally begun! The new season started airing this past Friday (5th October 2018), which means we’re set for a good number of weeks! We’re about to see new stands, even more outlandish and crazy outfits than ever and, of course, another JoJo! Uh, except this one isn’t really a JoJo, he’s more of a GioGio – More on that later in the article. For now though, let’s check out what this arc is all about, the returning cast and of course, some of the new cast we can expect to see. There may be minor plot spoilers for the first episode, as well as some very light arc wide spoilers, so long as this arc follows the manga.

Golden Wind Episode 1 Out Now

Set in Naples, Italy, Golden Wind, also known as Vento Aureo is a tale that follows not a Joestar, but someone from DIO’s bloodline. It turned out that DIO had a son, who the Joestar’s do not know much about. Following some research, Josuke asks Koichi to go for an all expenses paid trip to Italy to find this person. Koichi was only given a name and a picture of a person to look for – and when he arrives in the beautiful city of Naples, he encounters Giorno Giovanna, a 15-year-old who is always up to no good around the airport.

Giorno offers Koichi a ride, but as Koichi puts his luggage in, Giorno tries to take off as quickly as he can. Koichi stops him in the middle of the act and this is when Koichi figures out that, whilst he looks quite different to the picture given to him by Josuke, as well as going under a different name, Giorno is the person he was looking for. Josuke fills in Koichi that they don’t know whether or not Giorno is a friend or foe, so for him to be very careful around him.

Things To Expect

Giorno is not your typical JoJo; first of all his name is technically GioGio as I previously mentioned, but we’ll let that off as it could believably be pronounced as JoJo. Still, this is artistically one of the more striking series thus far. The outfits have always been exquisite, but now we’re getting bare chests with hearts. The flamboyant nature of the JoJo style seriously picks up in Vento Aureo, which is something that goes between characters and indeed their stands. So let’s quickly talk about the stand that Giorno uses.

Giorno’s stand, pictured above, is called Gold Experience, but in the English translation it’s for some reason called Golden Wind. Name discrepancy aside, Golden Wind has a pretty cool ability: Life Giving. It can create life out of other objects, which can take time depending on the complexity of the life he is trying to make. However, this doesn’t always make it a useful ability, as the sentient beings it creates has to have a thought process of its own.

How To Find It Online

Giorno appears to be pretty hot-headed, as he commits petty crimes. He wants to be a Mob-Star, which is their way of saying a really good mobster. This stands in a stark contrast to the image he and the other mobsters portray, but hey, if anything, this arc is going to be filled with a lot of fun twists and turns. The first episode is available on Crunchyroll for premium members and will be free to view on Crunchyroll on October 12th. If you don’t even know what a JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure is, go watch it for free on Crunchyroll.

Have you been looking forward to a new JoJo arc? Did you even know this has been released already? It sure crept up on me! Share your thoughts in the comments below, or over on Facebook and Twitter.
