Card games and Kickstarter are like ducks to water; many good card games come from the platform and today we’re going to chat about another. I recently found Cover Your Kingdom, which claims to conspire to acquire punderful creatures. If that isn’t a tagline that gets you excited, I’m not sure what you get out of bed for in the morning. Puns, creatures and medieval themes? Sounds ace to me. There’s not much time to back this one, so check out Cover Your Kingdom today. If you want the lowdown, then read on for our summary of the campaign, along with the lower reward tiers.
What Is It?
You are the ruler of a magical kingdom, in which you aim to collect a bunch of magical, but ultimately punny creatures. Until you get those creatures, you truly aren’t the most magical kingdom at all. Instead, your opponents are also magical kingdoms, who have no magical creatures either. The magical kingdom that gets the most magical creatures is the winner. Pretty simple, standard stuff. Recruiting creatures though is easier said than done, as some of them are pretty fickle.
Different creatures like to live in different areas, which is either the Mountains or the Valley. You must gather creatures in at least pairs in order to form clans, which allows you to place them in either the Mountains or the Valley. This also allows an opponent to respond in kind with a card matching the newly forming clan, in hopes to steal the clan away! You keep going until all matching cards have been revealed and the winner gets the newly appointed clan.
As well as pairing up, there are wild creatures that’ll live anywhere. There are also free creatures, which causes an effect to take place. The winning kingdom is the one that’s managed to gather as many clans as possible.

That last pledge sounds like quite the deal, if I’m being honest. There are only 20 more spaces for that one, so if you’re going to grab it, I’d say grab it sooner rather than later. Either way, this game is shaping up to be quite an amusing party game. If you like puns, then this may be the card game for you. So go ahead and check out the Kickstarter campaign today. Meanwhile, let us know if you see any more Kickstarter campaigns that you think should be seen and perhaps we’ll put an article up!
