Our final monthly GeekOut Bristol Meet has now come and gone; It was a fun night, filled with plenty of games and a spike in attendance to say farewell. I didn’t get many pictures of the day, but I think I got a rather good picture anyway. A nice one to leave these events all behind from. Sure, we have our New Years Eve event still to come, but all in all, this was a good send off for what has been a fun, enjoyable part of my life. Thanks to everyone who came along; it was amazing to see so many people come from so far to join us.
As ever, let’s talk about our stats and the likes. We went to a pre-meetup where 7 of us dined in Casa Brasil. It wasn’t the best experience there, as the fire alarm decided it wanted to make itself known. Nevertheless, the food was still good and they were incredibly busy. At 2pm, we made our way over to the Old Market Tavern, for the final walk from pre-meet to venue itself. Starting relatively quiet, as do many of our events, it actually picked up pace fairly quickly and by the end of the night, I counted 45 individual heads who joined us for a night of gaming, socialising and drinks.
We also had our Super Secret Santa event, where we managed to get 12 gifts from people, before handing them back out to folk at random. A lot of people enjoyed the items they got, so thanks to everyone who took part – It was great to see so many people get so involved with the unravelling of gifts and festive cheer. There was also our competition in which we had 20 entries, which is one of the most we’ve ever had, so a huge congratulations to Melissa and Adam for their first place victory, Robin for second place and Jenny in third.
As I say, I didn’t really take many pictures of the event. It’s the end of an era. Another GeekOut Bristol Meet has closed its doors and actually, that’s it. Man, it feels weird saying that, but just as well we have one last event on New Years Eve! Remember to RSVP today either on Meetup or Facebook.
