To Meta, or Not To Meta, Is That Every Gamers Question?

Okay, I might have lied, I don’t think many gamers truly put a lot of thought into whether they should or should not follow the meta. All games have a meta for a reason; it’s established and it’s grounded in knowledge from other players. Indeed, some games are geared in such a way that the meta is something easily acknowledged. From Pokémon, to Elder Scrolls Online, meta exists and here’s a few thoughts on what following the meta truly means.

Magic: the Gathering – Building A Casual Fun Deck For Modern

A lot of people seem to think that after I created one hell-raising deck, that I’d create nothing but destructive decks. I had a discussion a little while back, which made me reflect upon all of the terrible decks I’ve built. So, I wanted to make this right and build a deck that was a lot of fun for me, but brutal to play against. Without any hesitation, I started to make my strangest deck – So here’s a look at how I go about building fun decks for Modern.

Discussion: Video Game Meta

Discussion – It’s an important part of who geeks are. We like to sit around and talk about who is better, Kirk or Picard. We like to talk about why Minecraft is so amazing and we like to talk about the implications of paying for mods in games. We like to open up a lot of discussions, through a medium of a good, strong opinion and then to invite others to either share in our opinions, or to give a conflicting view on a topic. Today’s topic needs little introduction, as we’re going to talk about the very nature of what makes a good ‘meta’ in a video game and what they’re there for. Plus, we’ll look at the negatives of the meta, then open up to everyone for a discussion.
