Just shy of two weeks ago, I did a summary post of my thoughts and feelings of Naruto as a first time sitting down to just watch it all. I am pleased to say that in less than a month, I’ve finished one season – Yeah, yeah, I know, some of you are laughing at that child’s play, I struggle to binge watch. Anyway, now that I’ve completed season 1, here are my thoughts of the series so far.
Just over a week ago, I mentioned that I had never sat down and watched Naruto the whole way through. It’s strange to call myself an anime fan without actually having watched much of the orange ninja, so I thought it’d be kind of fun to watch it all, share my thoughts on the show and get your thoughts in response. I have to thank the people who spoke to me after that article, as ultimately I learned a lot more about the show than I expected. Also, thanks to those of you who offered encouragement for my sanity, which may be just as important. Here are my thoughts of the first 11 episodes. As the series is so old, these articles may have some spoilers.
Right, hold on, don’t jump the gun on this article today folks. Have you ever enjoyed something, say video games or even anime, where a large section of fans talk about a particular series? Perhaps you’re a gamer who has never played a Call of Duty, or a Final Fantasy? What if you’re a comic fan who has never read X-Men? I’m a guy who really enjoys anime, however I’ve never really given Naruto a proper try. There’s also no reason for it, as I thoroughly enjoyed the first couple of episodes that I did see way back when. So, I’m about to start a new venture – To watch all of Naruto… We’ll talk about Boruto another time.
A series that goes on too long can be a terrible thing; from an unnecessary deviation from the plot, through to repetition of the show. What may have had a promising start, ultimately, is turning into a slog, rather than an enjoyable show to continue watching. Naturally, a series isn’t even limited to film and TV, but rather all mediums.
You are all a strange bunch, as you all picked this Top 10 after last week’s Series That Ended Too Soon. So, from getting soppy at last week’s list, to us going “Oh god, why is/was that going on so long”, this week’s Top 10 Series That Went On Too Long is all thanks to you. Thanks, folks. Let’s begin the list!
