SummerSlam 2019 has now come and gone. It was a night filled with very few title changes, although a major one changed. We also saw a couple of non-title feuds, which I’m honestly a big fan of. Sometimes, I prefer to watch an angle between people who just want to get to one another; take the current storyline between Kevin Owens and Shane McMahon for instance. Great stuff… But there is one story that I think will have people talking for arguably years to come.
A startling revelation that came to me, a new and unique idea is genuinely hard to come by. Okay, this is a strange topic for a geek website, but hear me out. It relates to your favourite video games, TV series, films, books and stories of all kinds. When you flick through available content, a lot of stories are similar, albeit with a different cast. This Monday, I saw something that was genuinely new – And that made me and fans exceptionally happy.
NXT TakeOver is the biggest show for the developmental branch of WWE. It’s known as one of the most exciting brands in all professional wrestling and it’s a crying shame that every show isn’t quite up to the callibre of NXT, however then we would be spoilt for choice. This past Friday night, NXT TakeOver put out an incredible show, which is just what the exciting brand keeps on giving. With five titles up for grabs, there was a buzz about this show and the results of the show were, largely, quite exciting. So, since I mentioned on Friday that this weekend is WrestleMania weekend, here’s a quick summary of NXT TakeOver: New York, as well as my thoughts about the results.

With the Royal Rumble coming up at the end of the month, I thought I’d do one of my usual rare talks about how ridiculous a show can be – But instead of focusing purely on WWE, I thought that it might be interesting to talk about how YouTube has played such a massive role in helping with what is effectively a boom of interest.

Alright, admittedly, anyone who’s ever seen a picture of me will be aware that I’m quite a chunky person. I’ve always been pretty big, but recently I’ve gotten to a point where I’ve decided that I’ve had enough of it. Whilst I could be like everyone else, by heading to a gym and just working out non-stop for ages, I figured I’d want to start it off a bit simpler – Get myself back into the spirit of good health. Naturally, food becomes a part of a health kick, but overall, I wanted to make sure I wouldn’t get bored. This is my routine – and how you can kickstart your own health spree – If you’re looking to lose a few pounds!
The enemies are approaching; They’re charging at great haste. Their swords are drawn and their casters are primed and ready. The archers have their arrows drawn – We’re surrounded. Send the soldiers to the front of the lines, we need to show them the best offense is a great defence – We’re going to put our shields up this week, as we check out our Top 10 Shields – We could do with the protection!
Whilst SummerSlam has been long gone now, a lot of people will still be catching up with all of the results. So, now that we’re five days removed from the event, I figured it’d be safe enough to start chatting about it. Many of you who’ve read GeekOut South-West over the years will know that I am an avid fan of pro wrestling, with WWE being a major force behind that. To catch you up with what happened, here’s my rundown of how SummerSlam 2018 went down.
